Disperse dyes are organic coloring substances, characterized by low water solubility and absence of ionizing groups. Suitable for dyeing hydrophobic textiles, they are low molecular weight derivatives of compounds like Azo and Anthraquinone, available in forms like crystalline, powder, or paste.
Properties of Disperse Dye:
Low water solubility power
Used for hydrophobic natural fibers such as Polyester, Nylon, and Acrylic
Melting temperature ranges from 122˚C to 150˚C
Requires dispersing agents to solubilize
Excellent color fastness properties
Can be dyed at high temperature and pressure, adjustable with carriers
Offers a variety of shades
Application of Disperse Dye:
Disperse dyes are particularly effective for polyester fabrics, making them ideal for dyeing polyester and its blended fabrics. These dyes are also suitable for coloring synthetic fibers such as acetate, nylon, polypropylene, chlorinated, and acrylic fibers. Common applications include black disperse dye, disperse blue dye, and disperse dye for acrylic, delivering vibrant and fast-drying colors for fabrics like polyester. Disperse dyes are essential in textile manufacturing, notably for garments, jeans, apparel, and denim items, where they provide lasting and brilliant hues.
